Sup this is BBoy Wicked A.K.A the Wizard from the ‘Phaze 2 Cross Town crew.
Couple of you might know me and couple of you won’t, but I’ve definitely been around the
scene, strong with the crew. I’ve been Breaking for about 26yrs rocking the same crew.

Sup 나는 ‘Phaze 2 Cross Town’ crew의 Bboy Wicked A.K.A ‘The Wizard’ 이다.
몇몇은 날 알고 또 몇몇은 모르겠지만 나는 항상 이 울타리 안에서 있었고 언제나
나의 크루와 함께였다. 한 크루에서 26년 동안 춤을 추고 있다.

PHAZE
My name is Phaze representing Phaze 2 Crosstown crew. The original name of the crew was Phaze 2 in 82 and it changed to Phaze 2 Crosstown crew. I started dancing since 82 but I kind of stopped because of different priorities. Eventually, I want to make my come back and I feel ready to come back!

내 이름은 Phaze이고 ‘Phaze 2 Crosstown’ crew를 대표하고 있다. 크루의 원 이름은 82년에 붙은 ‘Phaze 2’인데 ‘Phaze 2 Crosstown’으로 바뀌었다. 나는 82년부터 춤을 추기 시작했고 다른 일들 때문에 춤을 그만뒀었다. 하지만 난 다시 돌아올 계획이고 준비된 기분이다!

How did you get your name ‘Wicked’?
Wicked라는 이름은 어떻게 얻게 되었나

WICKED
Crazy story. First of all, when I was 7, my brothers always tried to teach me how to Brake.
I used to be really small and skinny haha people used to call me ‘Mr. Big’ or ‘Lil’ Eric.’
During the 90’s I had a friend named ‘2Hype,’ R.I.P he passed away from cancer,
I used to DJ back then and I went to 2Hypes crib and he said
“yo we are going to start a DJ production and your names going to be ‘Eric the Wicked’!
After that I took pride in that name and it kept on. Later I realized that I wanted to Brake more
than anything but Chicago in the 90’s were big in House dancing,
but I kept on Breaking and it came around again.
I wanted to keep my name because I felt that it was a way in remembering my friend who
passed away. After that people told me that my style was wicked and so that’s how the name
came about.

엄청난 이야기들이다. 일단, 내가 7살 때부터 내 친형들이 Breaking을 가르쳐주었다. 어렸을 때는 정말 작고 말랐었다 하하! 사람들은 나를 ‘Mr. Big’ 이나 ‘Lil Eric’ 이라고 부르곤 했다. 90년대에, 나에게는 2Hype이라는 친구가 있었는데,
암투병중 끝내 하늘나라로 갔다..고인의 명복을 빈다.. 그 친구와 나는 함께 DJ를 했었는데 그의 집에 놀러 가면 항상 “우리가 나중에 DJ Production을 만들면 너의 이름은 Eric the Wicked라 부르자!” 라고 해서그 후로 그 이름에 자긍심을 가지고 임했다. 그 후로는 Breaking에 더 관심을 갖게 되었는데 90년대 Chicago는 House 댄스가 엄청났었다. 하지만 난 꾸준히 Breaking을 했고 다시 돌아온 Breaking을 맞이하고 있었다. 내 이름 ‘Wicked’를 고집하는 이유는 고인이 된 내 친구를 기억하기 위해서이다. 대부분의 사람들이 나의 Breaking Style이 Wicked하다고 해서 또한 붙어있는 이유도 있다.

Tell us about Chicago BBoying scene in the 80s
80년대의 시카고 비보잉씬에 대해서 알고 싶다.

PHAZE
Two brothers from Puerto Rico came from Bronx, New York.
Tony and Jose are the names and they introduced Breaking to me.
Tony showed Wicked Breaking and Wicked told me about it. The next day,
I asked Tony to show me the dance and it was mad dope.
That was pretty much the first time I saw Breaking. We all got together and formed a crew;
two Puerto Rican brothers and four Mexican brothers. That’s how the crew started.

New york의 Bronx에서 두 명의 Puerto Rico형제가 왔는데 그들의 이름은 Tony와 Jose 였다.
그들이 나에게 Breaking을 알려주었다. Tony가 Wicked에게 Breaking을 알려주었고
Wicked가 나에게 알려준 것이다. 나는 Tony에게 직접 보여달라 물었고 그 춤은 정말 최고였다.
내가 처음 Breaking을 접하게 된 계기이고 Puerto Rican 형제 둘과 Mexican 4명이 모여서 팀을
만들었다. 그렇게 시작된 것이다!

Can you tell us more history from 1982 to 2000?
1982년에서부터 2000까지 역사에 대해서 좀더 알고 싶다.

PHAZE
After we formed the crew, more kids wanted to be in Phaze 2.
We had about 12~14 members in 82. We started to go to different areas to battle and stuff. After that Breaking kind of died out in 88,but it came back around 91. So that’s when we started practicing and it was more like Phaze 2 coming back again. More people started to come and that’s when we taught kids and it got bigger. We started getting better, we went to a school jam in Cincinnati and took it, Wicked took Pro-Am Miami and we went to BOTY. Because of all that, we became hungrier and kept on practicing. Phaze 2 is the only crew in Chicago with the same for 26yrs; one time for your mind!
We want to bring the old Phaze 2 back with the younger generation.
We want to be on top again!

크루를 만들고, 많은 다른 친구들도 Phaze 2가 되길 바랬다.
82년에 Phaze2는 12~14명 정도 였다. 타 지역을 다니면서 배틀을 하기도 했다.
88년 들어서면서부터 Breaking이 죽어가기 시작했지만 91년에 다시 돌아왔다.
그때 다시 모두들 함께했고 느낌이 컴백을 하는 느낌이었다.
더 많은 사람들이 우리와 함께 하기를 원했고 그 때부터 우리가 어린 친구들을 가르치기
시작했다. 그러면서 더욱더 커졌다. Cincinnati에 있는 학교 대회에서 우승을 시작으로 Wicked가
Pro-Am Miami에서 우승하고 BOTY를 갔다.
그 모든 것 덕분에 우리는 더욱 더 열정이 생겼고 더 열심히 연습하기 시작했다.
Phaze2는 Chicago의 유일하게 26년이라는 역사를 가진 크루이다.
우리는 예전의 그 Phaze2를 다시 돌아오게 하고 싶다.
물론 새로운 어린 친구들과 함께 말이다.
우리는 다시 위에 올라 서고 싶고 그것이 지금의 목표이다!

What’s your biggest influence in Bboying?
BBoying에 있어서 가장 큰 영향을 준 사람은?

WICKED
My first influence was obviously my brothers. When I was two, when my mother used to mop the
floor, my brothers would slide me on the floor and I loved it so much. My three brothers and
even my sister were dancing so I always wanted to be around them and make them happy so I
danced with them; it was automatic.

당연히 나의 친형들이다. 내가 2살 때 어머니가 바닥을 닦으시면 형들이 나를 땅바닥에다가
슬라이드를 시켜주곤 했는데 난 그게 너무나 좋았다. 내 세 명의 친형과 친 누나까지 춤을췄으니 나도 춤을 춤으로써 형 누나들과 함께 있고 싶었고 그들을 행복하게 해주고 싶었다. 내가 춤을 추게 된 것은 이렇게 자연스러운 것이었다.

Many people remember you in BOTY98. Tell us what happened?
많은 사람들이 Wicked라는 이름을 들으면 BOTY98을 생각한다.
그때 당시의 상황에 대해서 얘기해 줄 수 있나.

WICKED
It’s one of the biggest accomplishments we did. Back then, BOTY was like the biggest jam so it was like being on top of the world. For us to be invited and make noise meant a lot to me and my crew. It was one of the top battles I’ve experienced; so many people, crazy cyphers and all. Yeah, I say it was one of my best battles in 26yrs of Breaking life.

우리가 성취한 일중에 가장 큰 것이다. 그때 당시 BOTY는 최고의 잼이었고 아무도 건들 수 없어
보였다. 그곳에 초대되어서 우리 자신을 알린다는 것은 나와 나의 크루에게는 엄청난 것이었다.
내가 경험한 배틀 중 단연 탑에 위치해 있다. 많은 사람들과 엄청난 싸이퍼들, 나의 26년 Breaking
인생 중에서 단연 최고의 배틀 중 하나였다.

We’ve seen you with Kamel many times like BOTY98, BBoy Summit 99 and etc, tell us your relationship with him.
BOTY98에서 당신과 Kmel과의 활약상은 대단했다. BBoy Summit99에서도 말이다.
그와의 관계를 이야기해달라.

WICKED
Long story short, I met Kamel around 95,96 in a festival in Chicago and Kamel was just hitting street performances. Kamel was basically just tumbling back then but we had a session and got to meet him there. We didn’t exchange numbers or anything but we respected each other. The next year he came around again but he had gone to Toronto and got hooked up with Boogie Brats, so he’s official crew was Boogie Brats. When he came to Chicago I took him in and he
stayed with me; he taught me a lot and I taught him a lot. He was like a family member to me and he is Phaze 2 just like he is in Floor Lords and other crew and he basically says he’s Phaze 2. Lot of people doesn’t know this but Kamel has a big heart and if you are down with him, he’s down with you. In that point, Kamel was living with me and it was just obvious for me to invite him to BOTY. It was just pure family. We had a big family back then; Quick Step, Rockafella, Clown and Full circle. Kamel’s official crew is Boogie Brats but family wise and brotherhood, Kamel is definitely Phaze 2.

긴 이야기를 짧게 줄인다면, 나와 Kamel이 만난 건 Chicago에서 하는 어떤 축제에서 95, 96 년도에 만났다. Kamel은 길거리 공연을 하고 있었고 그때에는 덤블링을 위주로 하였다. Kamel과 우리들은 Session을 한번 하게 되었는데 끝나고 번호를 주고받고 한 것보다 서로를 존중하고 알아보았다. 그 다음해에 다시 왔는데 그 사이 그는 Toronto에 가서 Boogie Brats가 되었다. 다시 왔을 때 Kamel은 나와 같이 지냈고 서로에게 많은 것을 배웠고 가르쳐주었다. Kamel은 가족 같은 친구이고 Floor Lords와 다른 크루들에 있듯이 그는 Phaze 2이다. 많은 사람들이 잘 모르지만 Kamel은 대인배다. 상대방이 Kamel에게 진심으로 대하면 그도 진심으로 대한다. 그렇게 봤을 때, Kamel이 나와 지내면서 내가 BOTY를 같이 나가자고 하는 것은 당연한 일이라고 본다. 왜냐하면 단순히 우리는 가족과도 같은 관계였기 때문이다. 그 때 우리는 많은 Family들이 있었다: Quick Step, Rockafella, Clown 그리고 Full Circle. Kamel의 ‘공식’적인 크루는 Boogie Brat이지만 가족적인 측면으로는 당연히 그도 Phaze 2 이다.

In BBoy Summit 99, you battled against Wicket and Flo Master with Kmel on your side,
and it is such a legendary battle! Tell us about it!
99년 Bboy Summit에서 Wicket과 Flo master와 배틀을 했는데 정말 전설의 배틀이 아닐 수 없다.
그에 대해서 얘기를 해달라!

WICKED
That was one of my best battles. It was after BOTY, Kamel, Megus and I were practicing in Chicago for about 6 month; all of us had goals of who we wanted to battle. Apparently, what happened with Wicket was, I think it started off at Pro-Am, Speedy Legs put a Wicke’T’ for my name so it started a buzz about “There’s another Wicket around! Which is better?!” But I’m Wick’ed’ haha, so I guess that’s how it started. I have mad respect for Wicket and I never had a grudge match with anyone haha. Not many people know this but, the day before the battle, Kamel and I called out Flo Master and Wicket on the cypher but they didn’t come out; I guess they were getting ready for the battle the next day. The next day we battled, it was a great battle, one of my best battles ever. I felt sick that day but it didn’t matter because it was just crazy. Much respect to Wicket, Flo Master and Kamel.

내가 한 배틀 중 단연 최고이다. BOTY이후였는데 나와 Kamel 그리고 Megus는 Chicago에서 6개월 정도 연습을 하고 있었는데 우리 모두 누구와 배틀을 하고 싶은지에 대한 계획이 있었다. Wicket과 나의 관계는 아마도 Pro-Am에서 시작된 것 같은데, Speedy Legs (주최자)가 내 이름이 Wick’ET’ 인줄 알고 썼다가 소문이 소문을 낳아서 Wicket에게 들린 모양이었다. 누가 더 잘하는지에 대한 이야기들이 오고 갔었다고 한다. 하지만 난 Wick’ED’인데..하하.. 여하튼 그렇게 해서 시작된 것 같다. 난 Wicket을 매우 존중하고 누군가를 싫어하거나 복수매치 같은 건 한적이 없다 하하! 이건 대부분이 모르지만, 그 배틀 전날 나와 Kamel은 Flo Master와 Wicket에게 배틀을 걸었었다. 하지만 그들은 나오려 하지 않았는데 아마도 다음날에 하는 우리와의 배틀을 준비하는 것 같았다. 다음날 배틀을 했을 때, 정말 재미있었고 내가 한 배틀중 최고였다. 그 날 몸이 조금 좋지 않았지만 그건 중요하지 않았다, 왜냐하면 정말 말도 안되게 재미있었기 때문이다. Wicket과 Flo Master 그리고 Kamel! Much Respect!

What was your attitude towards that battle?
그 때 당시에 배틀에 임했던 마음가짐은?

WICKED
Easy Roc and Asia One was hosting the BBoy Summit around that time, and they knew me because of Pro-Am and BOTY so they wanted to make something. I trained so hard, tried to be positive and wanted to be better than him that day.

Easy Roc과 Asia One이 BBoy Summit을 주최할 때인데 그들은 나를 Pro-Am과 BOTY 때문에 알았다. 그래서인지 그들이 나와 Wicket의 배틀을 주최 하고 싶어했다. 난 정말 열심히 준비 했고 긍정적인 마인드를 꾸준히 가졌다. 그리고 무엇보다 Wicket보다 잘하고 싶었다.

KOREANROC
You retired in the early 2000 and it was a great shock to the Breaking community. what happened?
2000년 초반에 은퇴를 선언했는데 그것은 이 씬에 있는 사람들에게 엄청난 충격을 주었다. 무슨일이 있었던 것인가?

WICKED
In 2000, I was at my peak. I was just starting to teach classes at ‘Flash Fitness’ trying to educate young ones in the city. Unfortunately I was diagnosed with cancer, but I never said I’m going to retire at all. I do know that Cony Rock posted a battle with the title ‘Wicked’s last battle. Maybe that’s why people thought I retired. Honestly I was pretty bad, I had some crazy operations done to me, and I lost about 40 Pounds. That was the time when I felt it was the end of my career and my life. But deep inside me said I have to show the true Wicked as I got better. I felt that I really didn’t show people at the battles so I wanted to show the true Wicked to the people. That was my mentality to get back, get healthy. Thank God, my family and my friends because without them, I wouldn’t have been here. I had BBoys calling me from all over the world; Kamel was the first one to call me and Leno. Kamel was in Japan at that time and he called me to see how I was doing.

2000년이 나의 전성기라고 생각한다. ‘Flash Fitness’라는 곳에서 Workshop을 진행하기 시작할 때인데 암 판정을 받았다. 하지만 난 ‘은퇴’ 할 것 이라고 한적이 없다. 내가 아는 것은 Cony Rock이 ‘Wicked’의 마지막 배틀 이라는 제목으로 영상을 올려서 사람들은 내가 춤을 그만 뒀다고 생각 한 것 같다. 내 상태는 매우 좋지 않았고 끔찍한 수술들도 많이 했다. 18kg이 빠졌고 그때 내가 끝이구나 라고 생각을 했을 때 였다. 하지만 내 깊은 곳에서 진짜 Wicked를 보여주자 라는 마음이 생겼고 그 후로 점점 좋아지기 시작했다. 사람들에게 진정한 Wicked를 보여주지 못했다라는 생각에 나는 지금 상황을 이겨내야겠다고 다짐했고 다행히도 호전됐다. 나의 가족과 친구들에게 너무나도 감사하고 전세계적으로 Bboy들이 전화를 해주어서 고마웠다. Kamel이 가장 첫번째로 전화를 해주었는데 일본에서 전화를 해 줬었다.

What was your turning point?
당신 인생의 전환점은?

WICKED
Turning point was probably when I left the hospital. The Doctor told me that I had some problems but when I had my first Kilo-Treatment, they sent me home. At home, I started eating again and I got my appetite back. From that day, I felt awake and healthier and that’s when I said I’m never turning back and I’m just going to move forward. It keeps on until now; not to look back and keep on moving forward.

내가 병원에서 퇴원을 했을 때! 의사가 나에게 아직도 문제가 있다고 했지만 Kilo Test를 거치고 나서는 바로 퇴원시켰다. 집에 돌아오자 식욕이 돌아왔다. 그 후로는 굉장히 건강해졌다. 그 때 다짐한 것이 다시는 뒤돌아 보지 않고 앞만 보고 달리기로 했다. 지금까지도 그렇고 있다; 절대 뒤돌아 보지 않고 앞만 보고 달린다.

We hear noise from the Phaze 2 crew again and it’s great to see such a great crew getting back together. Tell us about the new Phaze 2 crew!
Phaze2 크루에 대한 소식이 들려오고 있다. 역사적인 크루가 다시 돌아오고 있다는 소식은 정말 좋지 않을 수 없다. 새로운 Phaze2에 대해서 알려달라.

WICKED
After I got better, my goal was to really bringing the crew back. Some of the older members of the crew had different priorities so they couldn’t make it; I took it upon myself to create a brand new Phaze 2 with the young guys. I wanted to influence them in a Phaze 2 way so they can bring something new to the table, something better. It doesn’t happen overnight, it takes time and process. The remaining members understand the heart, legacy, what we went through and have pride in Rocking Phaze 2. To name a couple: Heaven, Brave Monk, Eggroll, Will, Ambrose, Micah, Xander, Billy, Kid Jungle, Peter and Cousin E Double. E Double was the one who kept the Phaze 2 name alive; he was the only Break DJ in the city and mad respect for him. The new cats are handpicked by myself and I’m excited to see them in this scene.

몸이 괜찮아진 후, 나의 목표는 Phaze2를 살리는 것이었다. 몇몇 원로 멤버들은 춤에 집중을 할 수 없는 상황이었고 해서 내가 할 수 밖에 없었다. 나는 전혀 새로운 Phaze 2, 새로운 멤버들과 함께 다시 만들고 싶었고 그들을 Phaze 2 방식의 영향을 주고 싶었다. 그래야 그들이 무언가 새로운 것을 창안해내고 좀더 발전된 것을 찾을 수 있기 때문이다. 하루 아침에 변하는 것이 아니고 시간이 걸린다. 많이 왔다 갔다 했는데 현재까지 남아있는 멤버들은 정말 Phaze2라는 이름에 자부심을 가지고 있는 친구들이다. 그 이름의 역사를 안고 가는 친구들이다. 현재, Heaven, Brave Monk, Eggroll. Will, Ambrose, Micah, Xander, Billy, Kid Jungle, Peter 와 Cousin E-Double-E 가 있다. Double이 Phaze2를 꾸준히 안고 있었다. Chicago의 Break DJ는 E-Double-E밖에 없었다. 어린 친구들은 내가 직접 골랐고 이 씬 안에서의 활약이 기대된다.

What do you think about the current Breaking scene?
현재 Bboying Scene에 대해서 어떻게 생각하나.

WICKED
First of all, I salute my hat to the keeping the Chicago scene alive. I couldn’t be prouder because they put their hearts in it. Crews like Brickheads and other crews. Only difference between back then and now, I guess its lack of creativity and lack of respect to the founders; not just Chicago but the whole scene. It’s a decent scene and I have nothing bad to say about it but just being outside of the scene, I would say not being competitive. I haven’t seen many Chicago crews flown out to other cities or countries these days, and I think they need to be more competitive. I have full respect to the ones who always try to be competitive but I think we need more of that!

일단 Chicago 씬을 꾸준히 살려준 것에 대해서 경의를 표한다. 그만큼 열정을 다 받쳤다는 것이기 때문이다. Brickheads 와 다른 크루들 말이다. 지금과 다른 점은…. 창의성과 Founder에 대한 존중심이 떨어진다는 것이다. Chicago뿐만이 아니라 전체적으로 말이다. 전체적으로는 훌륭한 씬 이지만 경쟁심이 떨어진다는 것도 문제가 된다. Chicago에 연고지를 둔 Crew들 중 다른 도시나 나라들까지 나가는 Crew를 많이 못 본 것 같다. 좀더 경쟁심이 있어야 한다고 본다. 꾸준히 그런 사람들은 정말 존중하지만 좀더 많이 필요한 것 같다!

KOREANROC
Is there anything that makes you angry in this scene?
이 씬에서 화가 나는 점은 없는가?

WICKED
I want people to be more original. I know it’s influential but what we had been doing for years was trying to be original. Yes, there are basic fundamentals to keep but you can also flip it with having the fundamentals. Basically I want to see basic styles to evolve and that’s what I’m trying to do with my crew.

좀더 자기만의 것이 생겼으면 좋겠다. 영향을 받는다는 것이 크긴 하지만 우리가 계속 해오는 이유는 Original이 되기 위해서라고 본다. 자 기본기들이 있겠지만 그것들을 다른 시각으로 바라 볼 줄도 알아야 한다, 물론 그 기본기는 소유하면서 말이다. 난 좀더 기본적인 것들이 발전했으면 좋겠고 나와 내 크루가 하는 것이 그러하다.

There are ups and downs in every culture.
Do you have any advice to go through such hardships?
모든 문화에는 고난이 한번씩은 있다. 잘 넘어갈 수 있는 조언은?

WICKED
The way I preserved the BBoy culture was by remembering the past and history. You have to protect the history and pass it on to the people that don’t know. Make sure you are teaching it the right way and teaching the history. Remembering the past and doing what they did and just loving it; that’s probably the best way. Keep rocking and do your thing!

내가 BBoy 문화를 유지해나가는 것은 과거와 역사를 기억하는 것이라고 생각한다. 역사를 지키고 또 그것을 어린 친구들에게 넘겨나가는 것이 지키는 것인데 많은 사람들이 모르는 것 같다. 역사를 가르칠 땐 본인이 확실히 알고 하는 것인지가 정말 중요하다. 역사를 알고 기억하고 사랑하는 것, 최고의 방법이라 생각한다!

Easy Roc said Hip-Hop is too big to limit it in just a word ‘Freedom,’ everyone needs
responsibility for the next generation so do you have any philosophy in Hip-Hop culture?
Easy Roc이 힙합은 자유라는 단어로 표현하기에는 너무 크다고 했다. 다음세대를 위해서 모두에게 책임이 있다고 생각하는데 힙합 문화 안에서 자신만의 철학이 있다면?

WICKED
It has some truth to what he said, but in a different time I guess. I will say ‘teach the youth.’ Whatever the goal you have in Breaking, eventually you will get to the point where you would want to do more for the dance. Teach the youth!

그의 말에 부분적인 동감을 하지만 시대가 다르다고 생각한다. 지금으로 보면 나는 ‘어린 친구들을 교육하라’ 라고 말하고 싶다. Breaking에 있어서 어떤 목표가 있더라도 언젠가는 이 춤에게 어떻게 도움이 되고 싶다라는 지점에 다다르게 될 것이다. 어린 친구들을 교육하자!

In the Hip-Hop culture, Bboying is well known as ‘Raw,’ then how could we keep such‘Rawness?”
‘Raw’에 대한 Wicked의 생각을 알고 싶다!

WICKED
‘Raw’ is basically when something is fresh, uncut, and spontaneous moves or moves that nobody has saw before. But you need to have flavor to it; not like a happy flavor but like a mean, intimidating flavor. You can interpret ‘raw’ into anything but what I think of ‘raw’ is just your character. It’s very hard to explain but I’m sure all the Bboys know what it means. It’s not just moves but the appearance, atmosphere, attitude and flavor.

‘Raw’하다는 것은 무언가 신선하고 편집되지 않고 즉흥적인 무브를 뜻하거나 아무도 보지 못했던 무브를 뜻한다. 중요한 건 Flavor가 있어야 한다는 것이다. 행복하고 즐거운 Flavor보다는 무언가 강렬한 Flavor말이다. ‘raw’라는 것을 어떤 의미로도 쓸 수 있겠지만 내가 생각하는 ‘raw’는 캐릭터라고 본다. 설명하기가 매우 어렵지만 Bboy/Bgirl들은 뭔지 알 것이라고 믿는다. 단순히 동작만이 아닌 외적인 모습, 분위기, 임하는 자세 그리고 Flavor.

To the people that just started, “Never give up!” There will be a point where you will get hurt or learn new moves and all; it’s just a part of process. For all the young kids who wants to live a breaklife, just do it, Freeze you soul! Don’t turn back!

지금 시작한 친구들에게 하고 싶은 말은, ‘절대 포기하지 말자!” 이다. 춤을 추다 보면 다치거나 새로운 동작들을 배울 때 정말 힘들 것이지만, 다 과정 중에 하나이다. Breaklife 살고 싶어하는 어린 친구들이여! 되는대로 해라! 너의 영혼과 마음을 굳게 믿고 뒤돌아 보지 말고 앞으로만 가라!

who wants to just enjoy. Do you have anything to say in this matter?
‘Breaklife’를 산다는 것은, 모두 다른 의미를 가지고 있는 것 같은데 각각 사람들에게 해주고 싶은 말은?

Just like I said earlier, people have different goals. I have respect for both because they both
keep our culture alive. Just do your thing, whatever the goal is, keep it up but keep it up in the
right way!

전에도 말 했듯이, 사람들은 각자 다른 목표가 있다. 난 모두를 존중한다. 그 이유는 그 두
부류모두가 이 문화를 유지해 나가기 때문이다. 목표가 무엇이든, 본인이 믿고 있는 의지대로
행하라, 그리고 올바르게 행하라!

What do you think about the Korean BBoys?
한국 비보이들에 대하여 어떻게 생각하는가?

WICKED
I know Riddle from the 20th Century BBoys! I definitely know Korean bboys. I know they are one
of the top classes in BBoying. I know Rivers, 20th Century Bboys and the list goes on. I have been
doing my homework and you guys definitely took Bboying to another level. I’m not the only one
saying that! Just keep it up! Hopefully I can go out there and session with you guys!

일단 20th Century Bboys의 Riddle을 안다!! 당연히 한국 Bboy들을 안다. Bboying에 있어서는 Top
Class라는 것도 안다. Rivers, 20th Century Bboys 등등 너무나도 많다. 꾸준히 봐왔지만 그대들이
Bboying의 수준을 한 단계 높였다고 본다! 꾸준히 했음 좋겠고 언젠가는 한국에 직접 가서 함께
하고 싶다!

For me and as for Phaze 2, we have been absent from the scene for a while. Stuff happens, and I just want to saythat, we have never left Breaking from our heart and soul. We’ve always trained and we always have been here. We respect the people that have brought the dance to another level. Phaze 2 is still here! Me, Smoke, Phaze, Roman, Mr. Do, Daniel, Droopy and Fienzer are still rockin as heavy hitters. We might be a little older, but wiser! We also got the younger generations who are hungry to battle and with the right combination, we can make noise again. Watch out for Phaze 2!

나와 Phaze 2로서, 우리는 Bboying Scene안에 오랫동안 없었다. 살다 보면 이런저런 일들이
생기지만 내가 하고 싶은 말은, 우리의 심장과 영혼에서 Breaking이 떠난 적은 없다. 항상
연습하고 꾸준히 이 문화 안에 있었다. 이 춤의 수준을 높여준 많은 이들에게 고마움을 표한다.
Phaze2는 살아있다! 나(Wicked), Smoke, Phaze, Roman, Mr. Do, Daniel, Droopy 그리고 Fienzer는
계속 강한 모습 그대로이다. 우리가 늙었을지는 몰라도, 더 똑똑해졌다! 그리고 새로운 세대들도
우리와 함께 하고 있고 배틀에 굶주려 있다. 구세대와 신세대의 알맞은 조화로 우리는 다시금
명성을 떨칠 것이다. 우리들을 조심하라! Phaze2!
