Move vs Movement by Alien Ness

Alien Ness: Within the dance, you have Moves vs. Movement and most people
just concentrate in one specific move but not getting into the dance and the movement.
It’s only because the younger generation of B-Boys don’t know what it is like to dance. Back in the days,
we would go to a club and pump spank and all with the girls and when
it came to time to Break, we still had that rhythm. Nowadays, if you want to do Breaking,
you think that you have to do million Headspins but you can’t dance with a girl
in the club with Headspins.
If you don’t deal with the rhythm, at that point, I can’t consider you a B-Boy. To me,
a B-Boy’ got to be in tuned with that one main element and that’s what moves our spirit;
the drum. If that drum doesn’t move you and you can’t catch that rhythm,
then you are not B-Boying. Move without a movement is just simple tricks.
You got a lot of kids out here that does one round of footwork and jump up and freeze
on one hand and everybody will go crazy but I can teach a chiwawa to stand on one hand,
but I can’t teach that chiwawa how to catch the groove! There’s a big dfference!

( 뭐라고 하는 건지 모르겠습니다 죄송합니다) 옛날에는 클럽에 가면 Breaking말고 여자와
다른 춤들을 추곤 했는데 Breaking을 할 때가 되면 Breaking 리듬을 탈 줄도 알았다.
(지금으로 치면, 클럽 춤도 출 줄 알고 여자들과 놀다가 Break Beat가 나오면
Breaking을 했다는 것 같습니다.)

요즘에는 Breaking을 하려면 Headspin을 해야한다고 생각한다
하지만 클럽에서 여자와 어떻게 Headspin을 하면서 같이 춤 출수 있는가?
리듬을 생각하지 않는다면 나는 그 순간에 당신을 B-Boy라 생각하지 않을 것이다.
나에게 있어서 B-Boy는 우리의 영혼을 움직이는 중요한 하나의 요소는
바로 드럼과 함께 해야 한다. 드럼이 만약에 당신을 움직이게 하지 않거나 당신이
그 리듬을 따라잡지 못한다면 당신은 Breaking을 하는 것이 아니다.
움직임이 없는 동작은 그저 단순한 기술일 뿐이다.
많은 사람들이 Footwork을 한번하고는 점프해서 한 손으로 Freeze를 잡으면
사람들은 분명 광분하겠지만 나는 치와와도 한 손으로 설수 있게 할 수 있다
하지만 그 치와와에게 Groove를 탈줄 알도록 가르쳐 줄 순 없다. 큰 차이가 있는 것이다!
